Camilla Rutherford, born in Holland Park, grew up with her sisters. Her father was a writer for The Financial Times and her mother a magistrate. She studied Mathematics at Newcastle University. She married Rufus Abbott at St. George's Church in Campden Hill after meeting him at a party in London. They have two children, Hector and Maud.
