Harriet Andersson was born on February 14, 1932, in Stockholm, Sweden. She rose to prominence as an actress for her roles in director Ingmar Bergman's films, often playing impulsive working-class characters marked by a youthful sensuality. Andersson is particularly known for her role in 'Sommaren med Monika' (1953), where she played the lead character Monika, a romantic and rebellious teenager who leaves home with her lover Harry to spend an isolated summer together.
