Synopsis
The story of 'Sommaren med Monika' follows Harry Lund, a nineteen-year-old man who meets Monika, a seventeen-year-old girl described as romantic, reckless, and rebellious. They fall in love and decide to leave their families and jobs behind, spending the summer together on an isolated island using Harry's father's boat. During this time, Monika becomes pregnant. Harry decides they should marry, grows up, gets a job, and returns to his studies to improve their lives and raise their daughter June. Meanwhile, Monika remains carefree and only wants to have fun.
