Mayra Leal, of Mexican and Salvadoran descent, was born in Houston, Texas. After graduating from the University of Houston with degrees in Communications and Mathematics, she found success as an actress, appearing in various films and TV shows like 'Machete', 'Southland', and 'Memphis Beat'. She has also worked on music videos and reality TV ('Locked Up Abroad'). Leal currently resides in Malibu. Story
In 'Machete', former Mexican Federale Machete Cortez (Danny Trejo) is hired by a mysterious man, Booth (Jeff Fahey), to assassinate a Texas Senator who opposes illegal immigration. However, the job turns out to be a set-up. After Machete realizes this and escapes from the scene of the botched assassination, he goes on a brutal rampage for revenge against Booth.
