She has been nominated for numerous awards, winning four Primetime Emmy Awards for her roles in 'Wild Iris' (2001), 'Frasier' (2003–04), 'John Adams' (2008), and 'The Big C' (2010–2013). Linney has also been nominated for three Academy Awards, including for her performances in 'You Can Count on Me' (2000) and 'Kinsey' (2004). She is notably known for her role in the film 'Love Actually' (2003), among many other notable roles.
