Candela Peña, born María del Pilar Peña Sánchez on July 14, 1973 in Gavà, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, is a Spanish actress. She was the only child of a couple who ran a bar in Barcelona. At age four, she started dance lessons and later moved to Seville for theater classes before settling in Madrid. Peña published the novel 'Pérez Príncipe, María Dolores' in 2001, encouraged by Pedro Almodóvar. She won the Premio Goya in 2003 for her role in 'Te doy mis ojos', after being nominated several times previously.

Story
In El Hierro, the most remote island of the Canary Archipelago, a murder has occurred. Candela, an experienced judge with a strong character, arrives to instruct the case as she takes up her position on the island where she feels like an outsider. The abrupt and changing landscape of the island is home to a close-knit community where secrets are hard to keep.
