Stefania Casini, born and raised in Italy, graduated with a degree in Architecture before pursuing a career in acting. She worked with notable directors such as Pietro Germi, Bernardo Bertolucci, Peter Greenaway, and Dario Argento. In the late 1970s, she moved to New York where she acted in Andy Warhol's 'Bad'. Casini then transitioned behind the camera, writing and directing films like 'Lontano da dove' (1983) and 'Un Paradiso di Bugie' (1997). She also directed six feature films for MEDIASET. A passionate traveler, she made documentaries and reportages focusing on contemporary women's and youth issues for RAI and MEDIASET. Casini was the Artistic Director of Siena's Film Festival 'Terra di Siena' from 2000-2002 and Managing Director of DGTV IESTV in 2010. Currently, she writes, directs programs, reportages, and documentaries for RAI and other satellite channels while also working as a journalist.
