Biographie complète
Born on January 25, 1975, in Reinosa, Spain, Ruth Díaz is a celebrated actress and director who has become a prominent figure in Spanish cinema and television. After beginning her acting journey at the age of 17 with stage performances, she honed her craft at the prestigious Royal School of Dramatic Arts (RESAD) in Madrid. She gained early recognition for her role as Carmen in the 2005 cult film El calentito, a performance that earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer from the Spanish Actors Union.
Following a period of relative distance from the industry to focus on motherhood and personal projects—during which she made her directorial debut with the 2013 short film Porsiemprejamón—Díaz made a powerful career comeback in 2016. Her portrayal of Ana in the thriller The Fury of a Patient Man (Tarde para la ira) garnered international acclaim, winning the Best Actress award in the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival and receiving a Goya Award nomination.
In recent years, she has maintained a prolific presence on screen, starring in popular series such as Vis a vis (Locked Up) and the comedy El pueblo. As of 2026, her career continues to expand with new projects, including the upcoming mini-series Malnombre and film roles in Las Mantis and Un hombre en un puente, further solidifying her status as a versatile and enduring talent in the industry.
