Rosalind Miles, born Rosalind Medlock on January 15, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, was a prominent American actress and fashion model who became a recognizable face in the Blaxploitation and action cinema of the 1970s. Before transitioning to the screen, she established herself as a successful professional model, frequently appearing in major publications such as Jet magazine.
Her acting career reached its peak during the 1970s with several high-profile roles. She is perhaps best known for her performance as Arna Asby in the 1972 film Shaft's Big Score!, where she played the love interest of the iconic protagonist John Shaft. In 1975, she appeared in the cult classic Friday Foster as Cloris Boston, a fashion model whose tragic murder sets the film’s plot in motion. Her filmography also includes starring roles in films like Girls for Rent (1974) and appearances in television series such as The Love Boat and Baretta.
Miles chose to retire from the entertainment industry in 1982, moving away from the public eye. She passed away on February 8, 2022, in her hometown of Los Angeles at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy as a versatile talent of the 1970s cinema era.
