Fran Drescher was born on September 30, 1957 in New York City. She began her acting career with small roles in films like 'Saturday Night Fever' (1977) and 'American Hot Wax' (1978). In the 1980s, she gained recognition for her comedic roles in movies such as 'Gorp', 'The Hollywood Knights', 'Doctor Detroit', 'This Is Spinal Tap', and 'UHF'. She also made guest appearances on various television series. Drescher rose to fame playing Fran Fine in the sitcom 'The Nanny' (1993-1999), earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her role.
