Dina Shihabi, born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and raised in Dubai, began dancing at age 6 with renowned teacher Sharmilla Kamte. She attended Al Mawakeb School, Emirates International School, and Dubai American Academy where she acted in school plays under Nancy Mock's encouragement to pursue acting. At 18, Dina moved to New York City for acting and was accepted into both Juilliard and NYU Tisch's graduate Acting program (though she only graduated from NYU with her MFA in 2014). She is the first Middle East-born woman to be accepted into both programs. Dina's native dialect is Levantine Arabic.
