Dalene Kurtis, born November 12, 1977, in Apple Valley, California, is a former model and entrepreneur widely recognized for her appearances in Playboy magazine. She grew up in Bakersfield and worked at an insurance firm and a gym while attending business college before launching her modeling career in 2000 after winning a Venus Swimwear competition. She was discovered at a Hawaiian Tropic event and subsequently became the Playmate of the Month for the September 2001 issue of Playboy, an edition noted for being the first to feature a fully shaved playmate. This appearance, published shortly after the 9/11 attacks, generated significant attention and, aided by patriotic sentiment, led to her being named the 2002 Playmate of the Year. In her post-modeling career, Kurtis transitioned into a successful fashion and jewelry designer and served as a spokesmodel for Hollywood Tans tanning salons. She is a mother of one son and resides in Beverly Hills, California.
