Angela Bassett, born on August 16, 1958, is an American actress known for her diverse and acclaimed roles in film and television since the 1980s. She won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Tina Turner in 'What's Love Got to Do with It' (1993). Bassett has also starred in notable films like 'Boyz n the Hood', 'Malcolm X', 'Waiting to Exhale', 'How Stella Got Her Groove Back', and played Queen Ramonda in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On television, she portrayed Katherine Jackson in 'The Jacksons: An American Dream' (1992), Rosa Parks in 'The Rosa Parks Story' (2002), and has had recurring roles in 'American Horror Story'. Bassett has received numerous accolades throughout her career.
