Tamara Marthe, known professionally as Shy'm (born 28 November 1985), is a French singer and dancer who rose to fame after being discovered by Lebanese-Canadian rapper K.Maro. Born in Trappes, France to a Metropolitan French mother and a father from Martinique, she grew up surrounded by zouk music and R&B influences. After obtaining her baccalaureat at 17, Shy'm moved to Paris where her demos caught K.Maro's attention. He gave her the stage name Shy'm and featured her in his song 'Histoire de luv'. She released her debut album 'Mes fantaisies' in 2006, followed by six more albums, three of which achieved Platinum status. Notable singles include 'Femme de couleur', which peaked at number 5 on the French charts. Shy'm's musical style varies from R&B and pop to synthpop, with themes often revolving around love and intermarriage. She won the second season of Danse avec les stars in 2011 and joined Les Enfoirés charity ensemble in 2012. Shy'm has received multiple NRJ Music Awards for Francophone Female Artist of the Year.
