Ravshana Kurkova, born Ravshana Matchanova on August 22, 1980 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, is an Uzbek-Russian actress known for her work in film, theater, and dubbing. Born into an acting family, she began her career at age 2 with the arthouse drama 'Kirk Kulok Siri'. Kurkova moved to Moscow and studied philology before working as a TV editor and assistant director. She trained under Tatiana Pyshnova and attended High Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors. Kurkova has acted in over 30 films, including 'A u nas vo dvore... (series)' where she played Mavlyuda, and 'Black Russian' as Masha Troyekurova. She is also known for her stage roles in plays like 'Ungiers', 'Odnodimka', 'Illusion', and works of Ivan Vyrypaev. Kurkova was married to photographer Semyon Kurkov (whom she kept the surname from) and later to actor Artem Tkachenko (2004-2008).
