Natalie Portman, born Neta-Lee Hershlag on June 9, 1981, holds dual American and Israeli citizenship. She was born in Jerusalem to an Israeli father and American mother but grew up primarily in the eastern United States from age three. Her acting debut was in 'Léon: The Professional' (1994). Portman is known for her roles as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy ('Episode I - The Phantom Menace', 'Attack of the Clones', and 'Revenge of the Sith'). She won a Golden Globe and was Academy Award-nominated for her role in 'Closer' (2004). Portman attended Harvard University, studying psychology alongside her acting career. Her notable films include 'V for Vendetta' (2006), 'The Other Boleyn Girl' (2008), 'Thor' (2011), and 'Black Swan' (2010), for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress.
