Merle Palmiste, born November 1, 1970 in Tallinn, Estonia, is an Estonian stage, film and television actress. She graduated from the Tallinn Conservatory in 1992 with notable roles in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'The Seagull'. Palmiste made her feature film debut in 1994 as Evelin in 'Jüri Rumm', followed by prominent roles such as Grey One in 'Karu süda' (2001). She has appeared in both Estonian and international films, including Russian ('Yantarnye krylya'), German ('Willkommen in Tallinn'), and Ukrainian ('Prykolna Kazka') productions. Palmiste had a long-term relationship with Alex Lepajõe, with whom she has a daughter, fashion model Elisabeth Berthel (born 1996). She currently resides in Tallinn.
