Marthe Keller, born January 28, 1945 in Basel, Switzerland, is a Swiss actress and opera director. She began her career studying ballet but shifted to acting after a skiing accident at age 16. Keller worked at the Schiller Theatre and Berliner Ensemble before appearing in films like 'Funeral in Berlin' (1966) and 'Wilder Reiter GmbH' (1967). In the 1970s, she acted in several French films and gained international recognition for her performances in 'Marathon Man' (1978) and 'Black Sunday' (1977). She also starred alongside William Holden in 'Fedora' (1978). Keller has directed operas such as 'Dialogues des Carmélites', 'Lucia di Lammermoor', and 'Don Giovanni'. She has a son, Alexandre, born in 1971.
