Martha Canga Antonio, born and raised in Brussels, Belgium, rose to prominence as an actress playing Mavela, a 15-year-old girl in a black gang, in the film 'Black' (2015). The movie, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, is a contemporary retelling of Romeo and Juliet set against the backdrop of Brussels' street gangs. Martha's character navigates loyalty to her gang and forbidden love with Marwan, a member of a rival Moroccan gang.
