Marianne Mardi, born in Lapland during World War II as an innocent Lappish girl and the only daughter of a reindeer herder named Aslak, played the lead role in 'Sensuela' (1973). After rescuing a crashed German fighter pilot named Hans during his convalescence, she developed feelings for him. Years later, Hans returned as a freelance photographer and persuaded Laila to move to Helsinki with him to pursue a career as a photo model. However, their relationship soured and Hans abandoned her, leading to a downward spiral in her life due to the decadent lifestyle of big city life.
