Kim Matula was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She started acting at the age of 12 and secured an agent when she turned 15. After graduating from high school, Matula studied film at the University of Texas at Arlington but left to pursue her acting career full-time. In 2008, she appeared in the TV movie 'Queen Sized' and had a recurring role on the show 'Pink'. Matula moved permanently to Los Angeles in 2009 and was cast as Hope Logan on the soap opera 'The Bold and the Beautiful', becoming its headlining actress from 2012 to 2014. Despite a Daytime Emmy Award nomination, she decided not to renew her contract and left the show in December 2014.
