Kim Gyu-Sun, portrayed by Jang Yoon-ju, was initially a respected economics professor at Seoul National University. He gained public admiration after saving a burning man and participating in a televised debate, leading him to pursue politics and oversee the creation of a social bank. Meanwhile, his wife Oh Soo-yeon, played by Kim Hye-eun, was deputy director of a contemporary art gallery. She attempted to replace her female manager, engaging in an affair with photographer Shin Ji-ho while trying to infiltrate high society alongside her husband.
