Jaimie Alexander, born on March 12, 1984, in Greenville, South Carolina, is an American actress known for her roles as Jessi in 'Kyle XY', Sif in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ('Thor', 'Thor: The Dark World', and 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'), and Jane Doe/Rachel Katz in 'Blindspot'. She moved to Grapevine, Texas at age four, growing up as the only girl among five siblings. Alexander initially showed interest in acting through theater in grade school but was later excluded due to her singing abilities. She then pursued sports instead. At 17, she met her manager Randy James while substituting for a friend at a scouting agency meeting, which led her to move to Los Angeles after graduating from high school to pursue her acting career.
