Izabella Mikolajczak, born Izabella Anna Mikolajczak on January 21, 1981, in Lodz, Poland, was discovered by an American choreographer at a ballet workshop in Bienalle when she was 14. She moved to New York City on her 15th birthday to study ballet at the School of American Ballet (SAB), but left two and half years later due to injury. Returning to Poland, Mikolajczak began acting in television movies like 'Lithuania You Are My Motherland'. After studying method acting with Lee Strasberg, she moved to Los Angeles where she was discovered by Jerry Bruckheimer for the film 'Coyote Ugly', marking her Hollywood debut.
