Hilary Holland, known professionally as Thomas Jerome Newton, is an extraterrestrial character portrayed by David Bowie in Nicolas Roeg's 1976 film 'The Man Who Fell to Earth'. Newton arrives on Earth to secure water for his dying home planet. He establishes a high-tech company to fund the construction of a spacecraft for his return journey, encountering unexpected greed and ruthlessness among humans. Throughout the story, he forms a romantic connection with Mary-Lou, played by Candy Clark.
