Ellen DeGeneres, born in Louisiana and raised in Texas, is an American comedian, TV host, and actress who gained fame through her sitcom 'Ellen' (1994-1998). She came out as a lesbian during the show's fourth season in 1997. Post-‘Ellen’, she hosted 'The Ellen Show' (2001-2002) and has since been hosting her popular daytime talk show, 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'. She is known for her roles in films like 'Mr. Wrong', 'EDtv', 'Finding Nemo' (voice of Dory), and starred in 'If These Walls Could Talk 2' (2000). DeGeneres has hosted the Academy Awards and Primetime Emmys, won twelve Emmys, and is recognized for her charitable efforts.
