Eileen Walsh, born April 16, 1977, in Cork, Ireland, started her acting career initially not intending to be an actress but following in her sister's footsteps. She gained recognition for her stage role as Runt in 'Disco Pigs' and her first film lead as Janice Beard in the eponymous movie. Walsh delivered a powerful performance as Crispina in Peter Mullan's 2002 film 'The Magdalene Sisters', which narrates the lives of young women sent to a Magdalene Asylum, suffering harsh labor and punishments. Walsh won Best Actress at Tribeca Film Festival for her role as Breda in 'Eden'.
