Casandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, was born on August 26, 1986, and is of mixed Filipino and African American descent. She started her career after meeting music producer Ryan Leslie, who signed her to his NextSelection Lifestyle Group. Her debut single, 'Me & U', released in 2006, gained significant popularity. Cassie's self-titled debut album was released the same year, with Bad Boy Records partnering with NextSelection for its release. Despite announcing a second album titled 'Electro Love', it has yet to be officially released.
