Ashley Michelle Tisdale, born July 2, 1985 in West Deal, New Jersey, is an American actress and singer. She began her career appearing in over 100 advertisements and had minor roles in television and theatre during her childhood. Tisdale gained widespread recognition for her role as Maddie Fitzpatrick in the Disney Channel sitcom 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody' (2005-2008) and later as Sharpay Evans in the High School Musical film series (2006-2008). The success of these roles led to a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records, resulting in her debut album 'Headstrong' in 2007, which was certified gold by the RIAA. Tisdale also voiced Candace Flynn in the Disney Channel animated series 'Phineas & Ferb' (2007-2015). Her second studio album, 'Guilty Pleasure', was released in 2009 but had less commercial success than her debut. After parting ways with Warner Bros., Tisdale focused more on acting, appearing in films and television shows like 'Scary Movie 5' (2013), 'Clipped' (2015), and 'Carol's Second Act' (2019-2020). She also served as executive producer for the TV series 'Young & Hungry' (2014-2018) and recently returned to music with her third studio album 'Symptoms' in 2019. Currently, Tisdale is a panelist on the reality competition show 'The Masked Dancer'.
