Alex Kingston, born on March 11, 1963, is an English actress known for her prominent roles in both British and American television productions since the early 1980s. She gained significant recognition for portraying Dr. Elizabeth Corday in NBC's ER (1997-2004) and the title role in ITV's The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders (1996), which earned her a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress. Kingston has also played notable roles such as River Song in Doctor Who, Mrs. Bennet in Lost in Austen, Dinah Lance in Arrow, and Sarah Bishop in A Discovery of Witches.
