Manoush, born Manoush Barandaj/Barandyai around 1972-73 to a French Manouche Sinti and Ashkali mother and a German-American father, was raised in Haarlem, Cologne, and Biel. She started modeling at 18 but stopped after a car accident left scars on her stomach and legs. After pursuing acting from 1997, she moved to the US in 2006 before returning to Europe around 2015.
