Born on September 15, 1977, in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, Caterina Murino started her career as a model after placing fourth in Miss Italy in 1996. She moved to Milan and acted in stage productions like 'Richard III' while studying acting at the Scuola di Cinema e Teatro di Francesca de Sapio from 1999-2000. Murino made her film debut in bit roles in Italian, German, and French productions starting in 2002. Her breakthrough came in 2004 with 'L'enquête Corse'.
