Candace Maxwell, born to Caribbean-American parents and raised in Queens, New York before moving to Atlanta, Georgia, began her career as a dancer. She performed on stage, film, and Broadway, working with renowned artists like Beyoncé, Lil Kim, and P. Diddy. Her skills led her to secure dance segments on major TV shows and eventually land a role in 'Holler If You Hear Me' on Broadway. Maxwell shifted her focus towards acting, training at the Maggie Flanigan Studio under the Meisner technique. She is best known for portraying Cassandra Haynes in both 'Power' (2019) and 'Insatiable' (2019). Outside of acting, she has interests in travel, food culture, animals, and advocacy work for underprivileged youth.

Story
Power follows James 'Ghost' St. Patrick, a wealthy New York entrepreneur who secretly runs an international drug trade catering to the rich and influential. Ghost wants to leave his criminal life behind and provide a legitimate future for himself and his family. His childhood friend and business partner Tommy Egan supports their operation while also serving as Ghost's enforcer. Meanwhile, Ghost is married to Tasha St. Patrick, who plays an active role in managing their legitimate businesses, but struggles with the secrets of her husband's past. Complicating matters further is Angela Valdes, Ghost's first love and Assistant U.S. Attorney, who becomes increasingly involved in investigating his criminal activities.
