Amy Lou Adams, born August 20, 1974, is an American actress known for her versatile roles in film and theater. She began her career as a dancer in dinner theater from 1994 to 1998 before making her film debut with 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' (1999). Adams gained widespread recognition after her breakthrough role in the independent comedy-drama 'Junebug' (2005), which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She has since portrayed various roles, including a cheerful princess-to-be in 'Enchanted' (2007), a linguist in 'Arrival' (2016), and even played Lois Lane in the DC Extended Universe films from 2013 to 2017. Adams has won two consecutive Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress, for her roles in 'American Hustle' (2013) and 'Big Eyes' (2014). Her stage credits include revivals of 'Into the Woods' at the Public Theater in 2012 and 'The Glass Menagerie' on London's West End in 2022.
