Danica Curcic was born in Belgrade and moved to Copenhagen at age one with her family. She attended Sankt Annæ Gymnasium, obtained a bachelor's degree in film studies from the University of Copenhagen, took acting classes at Dell'Arte International School in California, and graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2012.
