Courteney Cox (born Courteney Bass Cox on June 15, 1964) is an American actress, director, and producer. She gained significant recognition for her role as Monica Geller in the NBC sitcom Friends (1994-2004), earning seven Screen Actors Guild Award nominations and winning one. Cox also starred as Gale Weathers in the horror film franchise Scream (1996-present) and has had notable roles in TV shows like Family Ties, Dirt, and Cougar Town. Story
Seth Warner, grief-stricken after his wife's death two years ago and a series of personal misfortunes, vents his anger at God during a thunderstorm on the rooftop of his New York City apartment building. In response, lightning strikes and kills Seth's dog. Despairing and furious, Seth decides to defy the biblical Ten Commandments as an act of rebellion against his perceived betrayal by God. He moves in with his sister-in-law Rachel while her husband Harry, a shifty reporter, sees potential career opportunities in Seth's actions. Seth systematically breaks each commandment, with Harry initially assisting him but eventually clashing with Seth over his methods and intentions. Meanwhile, Seth and Rachel develop romantic feelings for each other despite Rachel's failing marriage to Harry. As Seth approaches the final commandment, 'Thou shall not kill,' he, Harry, and Rachel find themselves confronting a raging hurricane at Montauk Lighthouse.
