A group of documentarians venture into the Amazon rainforest to film local cannibal tribes. However, they soon fall victim to their own exploitative intentions and are killed one by one in brutal fashion. A New York University professor later retrieves their footage, which he uses to assemble a documentary about their fate.
Cannibal Holocaust (1980) is an Italian horror film directed by Ruggero Deodato, known for its extreme violence and animal cruelty. The movie is presented as a found footage film-within-a-film, following a group of documentary filmmakers who travel to the Amazon rainforest to capture footage of local tribes. Despite warnings from local guides about the dangers of entering tribal territories without permission, they proceed anyway, ultimately leading to their demise at the hands of the tribespeople. The film is notorious for its graphic content and was banned in several countries due to its controversial nature.
