Charlotte Rampling, born Tessa Charlotte Rampling OBE on February 5, 1946, is an English actress known for her work in European arthouse films. She began her career as a model and later became a fashion icon during the Swinging Sixties. In 'Sous le sable' (2000), she portrays Marie, a professor of English literature who loses her husband Jean while vacationing in France.
