Laura Gemser (born October 5, 1950 in Java, Indonesia) is a Dutch-based actress of Indo descent known for her work with directors Joe D'Amato and Bruno Mattei, particularly in exploitation-style and Black Emanuelle films. Born in Indonesia, she moved to the Netherlands at age four and grew up in Utrecht, attending MULO Regentesseschool high school and Artibus Art School for fashion design before moving to Italy in 1975. After modeling, Gemser began acting in soft erotic films and gained international recognition through her roles in Black Emanuelle films in the 1970s. Her career lasted from 1974 until 1991.

Federico, a renowned composer, retreats with his new wife Marta to a cottage near Udine after an accident that left him disabled and caused the death of his first wife Chiara.
