Story

Oliviero, a burnt-out writer living near Verona with his dominating late mother's presence haunting him, leads a debauched life with his maid and ex-student, hosts wild parties, and humiliates his wife Irina. When young women start getting murdered, Oliviero becomes a suspect. His world is further disrupted by the arrival of his confident niece Floriana. As more deaths occur and Oliviero's behavior towards Irina worsens, he finds new inspiration for his writing. A mysterious silver-haired stranger and Oliviero's black cat Satan watch these events unfold.

Summary

Il tuo vizio è una stanza chiusa e solo io ne ho la chiave is a 1972 film by Sergio Martino that blends drama, horror, and mystery. The story revolves around Oliviero, a troubled writer whose decadent lifestyle involves mistreating his wife Irina while engaging in affairs with other women. When murders occur in their vicinity, Oliviero becomes a suspect, further complicating matters when his niece Floriana arrives. With its mix of sexual depravity, psychological tension, and murder mystery, the film is characteristic of Martino's giallo films of the 1970s.
