Story

La bicyclette bleue follows Léa, the daughter of a wealthy Bordeaux family, who lives happily at her family's estate in the late 1930s. She rides her blue bicycle, given by her father, and charms all men she meets while being deeply in love with Laurent. However, Laurent lets her down as he loves Camille, Léa's best friend. The onset of World War II disrupts Léa's carefree life, forcing her to flee to Paris where she finds Laurent married to Camille. At a party hosted by Laurent, Léa meets mysterious François who works for the government. Despite his advances, Léa remains uninterested. Laurent is sent to the front line and asks Léa to stay with Camille in Paris. As German troops advance, Léa and Camille are forced to leave the capital.
