Elizabeth Hurley, born June 10, 1965 in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, rose to fame as a model and actress. She gained media attention at the premiere of 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' with boyfriend Hugh Grant. Hurley's modeling career includes representing Estée Lauder since 1995. Her notable acting roles include Vanessa Kensington in 'Austin Powers' films. Born to British Army Major Roy Hurley and teacher Angela, she has siblings Kate and Michael. Hurley met Grant on the set of 'Remando al viento' in Spain in 1987; they were together for 13 years. She has a son, Damian Charles Hurley (born 2002), with Steve Bing. Hurley married Arun Nayar in 2007.

In Portugal during the Napoleonic Wars in 1813, a group of deserters led by Sharpe's old enemy, Obadiah Hakeswill, capture two women and hold them hostage for ransom. One of the captives is the wife of an English high-ranking officer. Major Sharpe is tasked with rescuing the women along with his 60th Rifles regiment and a Rocket troop.
