Story

The movie 'Rubber' begins with a group of people gathered in the California desert to watch an unconventional film set in the late 1990s. The protagonist of this 'film within a film' is Robert, a sentient car tire who comes to life and goes on a rampage through a desert town. Robert becomes obsessed with a mysterious woman and uses his unexplained ability to make small animals and people's heads explode. Lt. Chad attempts to end the movie by poisoning the spectators but fails. In the final act, a lure is constructed to draw Robert out of his motel room in hopes of ending him once and for all.

Summary

'Rubber' is an avant-garde French film directed by Quentin Dupieux that subverts traditional narrative structures by presenting itself as a 'film within a film.' The movie is known for its bizarre premise involving a killer car tire, Robert, who inexplicably comes to life and develops telekinetic powers in the California desert. The film explores themes of existentialism, absurdity, and the nature of reality through its surreal plot. Despite its unusual concept, 'Rubber' has been praised for its dark humor and unique storytelling.
