Diane Colleen Lane, born January 22, 1965 in New York City, began her acting career at age 14 with 'A Little Romance' (1979). Despite early promise, commercial and critical failures of films like 'Streets of Fire' and 'The Cotton Club' stalled her career. She appeared in 'The Big Town' (1987) but gained wider recognition later with roles in 'Lonesome Dove' (1989), 'A Walk on the Moon' (1999), and 'Unfaithful' (2002). Lane is known for her performances in various genres, including romantic ('Must Love Dogs', 'Nights in Rodanthe') and thriller ('Fierce People', 'Untraceable'). She has appeared in four films directed by Francis Ford Coppola and plays Martha Kent in the DC Extended Universe.
