Charlize Theron, born August 7, 1975, is a South African-American actress and producer. She gained international recognition in the late 1990s with films like 'The Devil's Advocate' (1997) and 'Mighty Joe Young' (1998). Theron won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Aileen Wuornos in 'Monster' (2003), becoming the first South African to win an acting Oscar. She has since starred in numerous successful action films such as 'The Italian Job' (2003) and 'Mad Max: Fury Road' (2015). Theron became a U.S. citizen in 2007, retaining her South African citizenship.
