Illona Helen Wieselmann, of Austrian origin, arrived in Odense, Denmark after World War I in 1921 as a 'wienerbarn'. She remained in Denmark and began her acting career at age 11 on Odense Theater. After debuting in 1926, she performed with touring theaters until joining the Royal Danish Theatre in 1932, where she stayed until 1953. Her notable role was Esther in 'Indenfor murene'. She appeared in three films: 'De bør forelske Dem' (1935), 'Afsporet' (1942), and 'Så mødes vi hos Tove' (1946).
