Story

After a car accident, Anna (Ricci) wakes up at her own funeral, being prepared by mortician Eliot Deacon (Neeson). Confused but alive, Anna struggles to understand what's happening. Eliot claims he can communicate with the dead and convinces Anna she's in transition to the afterlife. Trapped in the funeral home, Anna accepts her supposed death. Meanwhile, her boyfriend Paul (Long) suspects something is amiss with Eliot. The story revolves around Anna's desperate attempt to prove she's alive while unraveling Eliot's true intentions.

Summary

Directed by Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo in 2009, 'After.Life' is a psychological thriller that blurs the lines between life and death. Starring Christina Ricci as Anna and Liam Neeson as the enigmatic mortician Eliot Deacon, the film explores themes of grief, acceptance, and the unsettling power dynamics between the living and the dead. Despite its intriguing premise, the plot's execution and resolution have been criticized by some viewers.
