Before gaining fame as the lead vocalist of Frankie Goes to Hollywood in the mid-1980s, he played bass for Big in Japan in the late 1970s. Throughout the 1990s, he pursued careers in writing, painting, and printmaking. His career spanned from 2000 to 2008.
