Full Biography

Keira Christina Knightley, born March 26, 1985 in London to actors Will Knightley and Sharman Macdonald, began her acting career at age six with commercials and television films. She gained prominence as Sabé, Padmé Amidala's handmaiden, in 'Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace' (1999). Her breakthrough role was as a tomboy footballer in 'Bend It Like Beckham' (2002), followed by global stardom playing Elizabeth Swann in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series. Knightley has since starred in numerous films, including 'Love Actually' (2003), 'Pride & Prejudice' (2005), and 'The Imitation Game' (2014). She's known for her roles in period dramas and has received critical acclaim, earning nominations for Academy Awards, BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and an Olivier Award. On stage, she's appeared in productions like 'The Misanthrope', 'The Children's Hour', and 'Thérèse Raquin'. Knightley is married to musician James Righton with whom she has two daughters.

Story

In war-torn London, Welsh poet Dylan Thomas rekindles his relationship with childhood sweetheart Vera Phillips, now a cabaret singer.
