She won a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of the title character in 'Tess'. Story
In Victorian-era Wessex County, England, Tess Durbeyfield, a shy and proud peasant girl, is sent to the estate of local aristocrats by her father after learning that their families are supposedly related.
